Funeral Services Held Here Saturday For Mrs. G. C. Oldag

Funeral services were held here Saturday for Mrs. George C Oldag Sr, 83, a resident of this community most of her life She had died unexpectedly Thursday at the Sioux Valley hospital in Cherokee after suffering a heart attack. Services were held at 2 00 at the First Presbyterian Church with the Rev J Paul Boaz officiating Gaudian Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements Burial was in Prairie View cemetery.

Having joined the First Presbyterian Church here in 1897 she was the oldest member of the congregation in years membership. She was a charter member of P E O . a charter member of the Paullina Woman's Study Club in which she was a member of book group. She had been recognized as a 50-year member of O.E.S.

In addition to the many ways she had served the community Mrs. Oldag also served it well as librarian for 17 years.

Mrs. Oldag, the former Ida M Macomb, was born April 24, 1884, in Benton County, Iowa She was a graduate of the University of Iowa, Iowa City, and taught in the Paullina and Cleghorn, Iowa, schools for 11 years.

In December 1914, [sic 1915] she was married to Dr George Oldag. Dr Oldag was a resident physician at Paullina until his death in 1943.

Survivors include a son, Dr George Oldag Jr., of Elwood, Ind., a daughter, Mrs. Mary Ellen Singer of Cedar Rapids. Iowa; a brother, Lee Macomb of Plant City, Fla., and six grandchildren.
