Services were held Sunday, January 1, 1995, for Gladys M. Thoms, 69, at the Zion Lutheran Church in Paullina. The Rev. Stephen Kamprath officiated. Interment was in Prairie View Cemetery at Paullina.
Mrs. Thoms passed away December 29, 1994, at Marian Health Center in Sioux City. The Gaudian Eldridge Funeral Home of Paullina was in charge of arrangements.
Gladys M. Thoms, the daughter of Carl and Margaret Kniese Hibbing was born August 1, 1925 in Dale Township, near Paullina, Iowa. She attended country school in Dale Township and later Paullina High School. In 1944, she was united in marriage to Wilbur C. Thoms in Elk Point, South Dakota. The couple farmed first north of Paullina until 1958 when they moved to a farm west of Paullina where they farmed for many years.
Wilbur passed away on July 22, 1993 in Sioux City, Iowa. Gladys remianed on the family farm until entering the Marian Health Center in Sioux City, Iowa.
She was baptized on August 30, 1925, and later confirmed on May 21, 1939. she was a lifelong member of Zion Lutheran Church in Paullina.
Gladys loved her family: Her daughter and husband, grandsons, Chuck and Scott, and her great granddaughter, Tabby. She enjoyed farming with her husband, gardening and her many flowers, dancing, playing cards, and camping.
Gladys leaves to cherish her memory her daughter Judya nd her husbad, Ron Waggoner of Sutherland, Iowa, two grandsons, Chuck Waggoner of Eloy, Arizona and Scott Waggoner of Rock Valley, Iowa; one great-granddaughter, Tabetha Waggoner of Spirit Lake, Iowa; two brothers, Clarence Hibbing and Earl Hibbing, both of Paullina; also a host of other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, and an infant brother.
