Ben Harms, age 81, passed away Tuesday, November 20, at his home east of Sibley. He had been a resident of Osceola County for the past 46 years.

Mr. Harms came to America with his older brother when he was 15 years old. Two years later his parents, another brother, and his sisters came to America. They all lived in the Archer, Iowa, area.

On March 22, 1904, he was united in marriage to Hattie Williamson of Ritter, Iowa. After residing in the Archer vicinity for a year, they [moved to] Ritter, where they lived for five years. In 1910, they came to this vicinity and lived on the farm southwest of Sibley until 1925 when they moved to their home two miles east of Sibley.

Mr. Harms was preceded in death by his wife who passed away July 9, 1954. He is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Bert Ver Steeg and Mrs. Peter Feldkamp, both of Sibley, three grandchildren, one brother, and two sisters.

The funeral services were held Friday afternoon in the First Reformed Church and burial was in the Sibley Cemetery.
