1893- ERNST STRAMPE 1964

Ernst Strampe, son of Fred and Mary Dobbertin Strampe was born April 5, 1893 near Germantown, Iowa. He received his formal education at St. John Lutheran School, Germantown.

He was married to Tillie Stoeckmann on January 17, 1915 by the Rev. F. W. Potratz. To them were born three children. They farmed for several years near Germantown before moving to Paullina where he worked at automotive and tractor repair until only a few months before his death on Sunday, August 2. He was 71 years, 3 months and 27 days of age at the time. He was stricken by a cerebral hemorrhage in March.

Funeral services were held August 6 at 2:00 at St. John Lutheran Church, the Rev. H. C. Bentrup officiating.

The deceased is survived by his widow, Tillie; two daughters, Hazel, Mrs. Harry Hinz, Granville and Mrs. Margaret Albers, Paullina; one son, Martin of Aurelia; 7 grandchildren. Six brothers and five sisters also survive.

Relatives and friends from South Dakota, Minnesota, Wisconsin and California as well as many Iowa towns were here to attend the services Thursday.
