Services held for Grace M. Strampe

Funeral services for Grace M. Strampe were held at 11:00 am. Tuesday, May 29, 1990, at the Gaudian-EIdridge Funeral Home, PauIIina, Iowa, with Rev. Gregory Bock, officiating. The pallbearers were Homer Strampe, Orlynn Strampe, Barry Johnson, Martin Strampe, Cloy Hirt and Rene Johnson. The final resting place is Prairie View Cemetery in PauIIina, Iowa.

OBITUARY

Grace M. Strampe, the daughter of Daniel and Mary Alice Reynolds Cockel, was born November 24, 1902, near Cleghorn, Cherokee County, Iowa. She received her education in Cherokee County's rural schools.

On September 20,1921, she was united in marriage to William F. Strampe in Primghar, Iowa. After their marriage, the couple made their home in PauIIina, where Grace was employed by Lange's Cafe and at the Wide View Rest Home.

Her husband preceded her in death in May, 1970, in Sioux City. Grace continued to make her home in PauIIina until entering Millie's Rest Home in Sutherland where she has resided the last few years. She passed away on Friday, May 25, 1990, at the Baum Harmon Hospital in Primghar, reaching the age of 87 years, 6 months and one day.

She was baptized and confirmed at the Cleghorn Christian Church. She was a charter member of the PauIIina American Legion Auxiliary and was a "blue lady" for the Auxiliary, calling on patients at the Cherokee Mental Health Institute.

Grace leaves to cherish her memory, one daughter and son-in-law Yvonne and Don Johnson of Paullina, three grandchildren, Barry Johnson, Rene (Patchy) Johnson, and Valorie Sholly; nine great grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Mabel Anderson of Primghar and Mrs. Mildred Richmond of PauIIina; and a host of other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, parents and one sister, Mrs. Inez Thomson.
