Carl Hibbing Services To Be Held Thursday

Carl Herman Henry Hibbing, the son of Henry and Emma (Brinkert) Hibbing, was born on August 6, 1900, in Caledonia Township of O'Brien County, Iowa. He was baptized, educated, and confirmed in the Christian faith at St. John Lutheran Church of Germantown, Iowa.

He was united in marriage to Margaret Kniese on February 16, 1921. God blessed this union with four children. After their marriage they farmed for one year outside of Sheldon, Iowa, before they moved to the farm north of Paullina which has been their home for the past 49 years, as well as their means of making a living. On February 6th, Carl entered the Primghar Hospital where he was called to his eternal rest on Sunday, February 28, at the age of 70 years, 6 months, and 22 days.

He leaves to mourn his passing his beloved wife, Margaret; three children, Gladys, Mrs. Wilbur Thorns of Paullina, Clarence and Earl of Paullina; three grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren; three brothers, Henry and Ernest of Paullina and Edward of Long Beach, California; and five sisters. Rose Kruse of Long Beach, California. Ida, (Mrs. Richard Warnke), Alvina (Mrs. Leon Omer), and Ella (Mrs. Orville Hatfield) of Paullina, and Ann Hibbing of Long Beach, California. He is also survived by numerous nephews, nieces, and a large number of friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one son Robert, three brothers, and one sister.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, March 4, 1971, at Zion Lutheran Church in Paullina. Pallbearers are Vernon Hibbing, Herbert Hibbing, Charles Hibbing, Francis Pauling, Charles Omer, and Reinhard Hibbing. Mr. and Mrs. Eugene Schuknecht will sing "Heaven is My Home" and "Just As I Am." Organist is Mrs. James Meyer. Burial will! be in the Prairie View Cemetery in Paullina.
