Virginia I. Puhrmann passed away September 13, 2000 at Baum Harmon Mercy Hospital in Primghar, Iowa.

Funeral services were held at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, September 16, 2000 at Zion Lutheran Church, Paullina, Iowa with Rev. Karl Eckhoff officiating. Casket bearers were Miles Puhrmann, Mark Puhrmann, Monte Puhrmann, Mike Puhrmann, Kevin Smith and Dirk Hansen. Burial was in Prairie View Cemetery, Paullina, Iowa. Arrangements were under the care of the Gaudian-Eldridge Funeral Home.

Virginia Irene Puhrmann, the daughter of Gerritt and Hilda Visser Willemstein, was born May 14, 1929 in Rock Valley, Iowa. She received her education in Hartley, Iowa schools.

In November of 1947, she was united in marriage to Wayne Puhrmann. After their marriage the couple lived in the Paullina area where she was employed by Bing Miller in his produce business. The couple also made their home in Sioux City.

She was united in marriage to Bill Conlon and after their marriage, the couple made their home in Sioux Falls, South Dakota.

On August 7, 1976 she was remarried to Wayne Puhrmann and the couple made their home in Paullina. Her husband preceded her in death on August 15, 1982 in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. Before ill health forced her retirement, she was employed as a cook at the Wide View Rest Home in Paullina. Virginia passed away on Wednesday, September 13, 2000 at the Baum Harmon Mercy Hospital in Primghar reaching the age of 71 years 3 months and 29 days.

She was baptized at the Reformed Church in Doon, Iowa and later confirmed into the Lutheran faith at Zion Lutheran Church in Paullina where she was currently a member.

Virginia leaves to cherish her memory one sister and her husband Teddi and Martin Puhrmann of Paullina, also step-sons and stepdaughters, many nieces and nephews and a host of other relatives and friends. Also left to mourn her is her very best friend Esther Rohr.

She was preceded in death by her husband, parents and one sister, Mary Smith.
