Mrs. Elizabeth Maronda Dies at Mason City

The remains of Mrs. Elizabeth Maronda, who passed away at the home of her brother in Mason City on Monday last, were brought to this city Wednesday morning for burial.

The deceased had been ailing for many months and gave up her position at the Park Hotel in this city, where she had been employed for several years, and went to Mason City in hopes that a rest might aid in regaining her health. But the change aided little and she failed graudually until the end. From her contact with the people over a period of years, she built up a wide friendship, and the entire community estends its sypathy to those who are left to mourn the loss of a kind and thoughtful monther and a sincere friend.

Elizabeth Mary Bergman was born January 11, 1879 at Dyersville, Iowa, and passed away at Mason City, Iowa at the home of her brother, John Bergman, on October 21, 1935, at the age of 56 years, 9 months, and 10 days.

Early in life she moved with her parents to O'Brien county where she spent many years.

On November 17, 1903, she was united in marriage with Albert Lester Maronda at Hartly, Iowa, and to this union was born one son, Fred, of Mason City.

She was preceded in death by her husband who died October 19, 1914, her father, one sister, and one brother.

She is survived by her son, Fred; her mother, Mrs. Elizabeth Bergman; four sisters, Mrs. E.G. Werner of Hazen, North Dakota, Mrs. C.R. Steece, and Mrs. Helen Bronley of Mason City, and Miss Celea Bergman of Adrian, Minnesota; two brothers, Bernard Bergman of Adrian, Minnesota, and John Bergman of Mason City; four nephews and one niece.

Funeral services were held at the Temple FUneral Home with Rev. Plummer officiating Wednesday afternoon. Music was furnished by a ladies'quartette. Interment was made in Pleasant View Cemetery.
