Ervin McKinley Linder

Services were held in the Methodist church at Hartley on Sunday for Ervin M Linder with Rev. S.A. Jruschwitz, pastor of the church, officiating.

Ervin McKinley Linder, son of Henry and Caroline Linder, was born October 12, 1900, on a farm north of Hartley, where he lived until young manhood. He attended the Hartley Township School No. 4, and after graduation from there, he attended the Hartley Public School.

On the 25th of November, 1920, he was united in marriage to Elsie Messer and the young couple moved to Mr. Linder's farm north of Hartley. Here they resided until 1945 when he moved to his home where he aws living at the time of his death.

To this union were born two children: LaVonne, Mrs. Herman Stopsack; and Marlyn, at home.

In his youth, he was converted and baptized, joining the Evangelical Church. He was a faithful member until the church was discontinued. Later he became a member of the Methodis church of Hartley.

He was a kind and loving husband and father, the welfare of his family being uppermost in his thoughts. He was a very good neighbor, and a friend to his fellowmen, always considerate of their own needs as well as his own.

About six months ago, he was stricken with an incurable disease which he bore patiently and uncomplainingly, being resigned to his condition througuout the time of his illness. He passed quietly away at the Hand Hospital April 2, at the age of 47 years, 5 months, and 20 days.

He leaves to mourn his going from this life his devoted and faithful wife; one daughter, LaVonne, Mrs. Herman Stopsack; his son, Marlyn; three brothers: Will, Lew, and Art; two sisters: Minnie, Mrs Warren Houston, and Bertha, Mrs. Hobart Putnam, all of Hartley.

He was preceded in death by his mother, father, step-mother, and one brother, Ben.
