Mrs. John Ennis, 91, Hartley, died September 15 at a Hartley nursing Home. Services were at 1:30 P.M. September 17 in the United Methodis Church. Rhe Rev. R.A. McBlain officiated. Burial was in the Pleasant View Cemetery.

Mrs Ennis, the former Addie Whitney, was born in Cherokee County on October 25, 1882. She was married March 20, 1901. The couple farmed in the Cherokee County area until 1926 when they moved south of Hartley.

Her husband died October 12, 1935. She moved to Archer to live with a daughter in 1947. Mrs. Ennis moved to a Primghar nursing home in 1969, and to a Hartley nursing home in 1970.

Survivors are three sons, R.M., formerly of Hartley, now residing in at Lake Okoboji, Saylor of Escondido, California, and Marlin of Windom, Minnesota; a daughter, Mrs. William (Nellie) Byers of Archer; a brother, Pleasant of Salem Oregon; a sister, Mrs. Floss Reeves of Cook, Washington; thirteen grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren and four great great grandchildren.
