Lillian (Peterson) Palmquist (1885-1980)

Funeral services for Lillian Palmquist were held at the Trinity United Church of Christ in Hartley Monday afternoon, December 15. Rev. Bernard Sayler officiated. Burial was at the Pleasant View Cemetery at Hartley with the Baumgarten Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Lillian Palmquist, the daughter of John and Anna Petersen Hass, was born in Tama County, Iowa, November 3, 1885. She moved with her parents to the Hartley, Iowa, area as a child, and was a lifelong resident here. She passed away December 12, 1980 at the age of 85 years, one month and nine days.

She was graduated from Hartley High School and from a Business college in Davenport, Iowa. She was a member of Trinity United Church of Christ. She was a seventy-five year member of P.E.O. and was honored on her 95th birthday by the members and anejoyed her long-time membership in Monday Bridge Club as well.

Her marriage to Alden Francis Palmquist took place June 10, 1908 at Hartley. To them was born on daughter, Donna. Alden passed away in 1962. Also preceding her were her son-in-law, Richard Hill; one brother, Hugo; and two sisters, Elsie Graves and Sadie, who died in infancy.

Left to cherish her memory are her daughter, Donna Hill of Hartley; one niece, Mrs. Charles (Gretchen) Young of Des Moines; other relatives and friends.
