Funeral services were held for Gerrit Boone, 82, Thursday afternoon at the Christian Reformed Church with Rev. Bossenbroek of Ocheyedan officiating. Burial was in Roseland Cemetery.

Gerrit Boone was born June 9, 1917 in the Netherlands and passed away Monday, January 16, 1961, at his home in Sanborn.

At the age of four he came to the States with his parents and they settled in Wisconsin. Several years later the family moved to Sioux County.

On February 27, 1908 he was united in marriage to Phoebe Veenstra at Orange City They lived at Hospers and Middleburg, moving in Sanborn in 1928.

He was preceded in death by Mrs. Boone on March 6, 1949, also one infant son, one sister, and two brothers.

Survivors are three sons: Edward and Charles, both of Sanborn, Tony of Ashton; three daughters, Rosella (Mrs. Kenneth Gorsett), and Betty (Mrs. Dick Van Holland, both of Denver, Colorado, and Nelvina (Mrs. Marion Sterk) of Sanborn, 11 grandchildren, two sisters, Mrs. Nick Brink of Brooten, Minnesota, and Mrs. Henry Brink of LeMars, five brothers, Andrew, Ed and Edward, all of Sheldon, Tony of Hospers and Ben of Maurice.
