Gracie Rosetta LaCour, the daughter of Garriet and Jennie (Tutje) Funk was born on March 17, 1937 in the Sibley Hospital in Sibley, IA. She lived her youth in the Ocheyedan and May City, IA area and received her education in the Harris-Ocheyedan School system, graduating in 1956.

On September 10, 1957, Gracie was united in marriage to Lee LaCour at the First Presbyterian Church in Sibley, IA. Following their marriage, the couple moved to Spirit Lake, IA where Lee worked for the Berkley Co. In 1958, he was drafted to serve his country.

While Lee served in the military, Gracie moved in with her parents near May City, IA. When Lee returned from his military service, the couple moved to the Royal, IA area and worked for Merrill Arnold until 1978. From 1978 to 1992 the couple lived in the Ocheyedan, IA area until moving to Sanborn, IA in 1992.

Gracie loved to camp and work in her garden, but spending time with her family and friends is what brought her the most joy. She was a very happy person, demonstrated by her love of singing. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Sanborn, IA.

On August 20, 2014, while visiting her daughter in Sioux City, IA. Gracie passed away due to health reasons, at the age of 77.

Gracie is survived by her husband of 56 years, Lee; children: Janene (Charles) Bergendahl of Sioux City, IA, Gerald (Patti) LaCour of Worthington, MN, Bryan (Rhonda) LaCour of Lake Park, IA, Brent (Karen) LaCour of Lake Park, IA and Jodi LaCour of Sanborn, IA; eight grandchildren: [redacted]; four great-grandchildren: [redacted]; brother, Harold Funk of Lake Park, IA; sisters: Donna Bryngelson of Worthington, MN and Verla (Conroy) Johnson of Spirit Lake, IA; other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents: Garriet in 1987, and Jennie in 1989.
