Wm. Gaskill of Highland township who has been a resident of the county for seventeen years, died last Friday [31 Aug 1888].

The funeral, Sunday, was the largest ever in the county, nearly one hundred teams in the procession. Funeral exercises were conducted by the G.A.R. Posts. Mr. Gaskill was a good man, served in the Mexican war.

He leaves a wife and two sons to mourn his loss.
