Many friends here were grieved to learn of the death of Mrs. Kenneth Tifft, who passed away very suddenly at her home just east of Sanborn on Monday, August 14. Funeral services were held at the Methodist Episcopal church, the pastor, Rev. J. L. Shroyer, in charge, on Tuesday afternoon, and interment was in Roseland cemetery.
Mae D. Wentworth was born at Sanborn, Iowa on August 8, 1898, and this was her home until she was fourteen years of age. At that time, she removed with her parents to Freeport Texas, where she grew to womanhood. Last spring, on May 7th, she was united in marriage to Kenneth Tifft, and shortly after came with her husband to Sanborn to make her home on the home place just east of town. Mrs. Tifft, while not physically strong, had been in fairly good health and, until the last few hours of her illness, her condition was not considered serious.
Mrs. Tifft was of a high type of Christian womanhood, willing always to do anything to relieve suffering or assist friends. During her short illness she suffered patiently and the end came quietly.
Those of the immediate family besides her husband of only a few months, are her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Earl Wentworth of Freeport, Texas, and three brothers and two sisters. On account of the ill health of Mrs. Wentworth, her parents were not in attendance at the funeral.
The many friends of this community extend their heartfelt sympathy to those who mourn the loss of one who will be missed in the community and in the home so lately established.
