Kathryn (Catharina) Gonnerman, the daughter of August and Pauline Busse Steinlicht, was born August 13, 1887, at Germanville, Livingston County, Illinois. She came to the Hartley area in 1910 and had since made her home here.

She was united in marriage to Henry C. Gonnerman October 19, 1910 [sic] at Milbank, South Dakota. To this union were born four children.

She was a member of Trinity United Church of Christ and its Dorcas Society. She was a member of the Rebekah Lodge for many years and the Past Noble Grand. For the past five years, she had been a resident of the Mann Wing, and passed away at the Hartley Hospital March 25, 1971, at the age of 83.

She was preceded in death by her husband in 1939, and infant son, and a daughter, Sylvia Gerlach in 1955. Also preceding her in death were six brothers and three half-brothers.

Left to cherish her memory are her two sons, Clarence of Palm Beach Gardens, Florida, and Harold of Hartley, five grandchildren, two great grandchildren, one brother, Harvey Steinlicht of Victorville, California, and two sisters, Alice Mergenthal of Hillsboro, North Dakota and Edy (Mrs. Rex Parker) Of Victorville, California, other relatives, and many friends.

Services were held Saturday, March 27, 1971 from the Trinity United Church of Christ, Hartley, Iowa. Rev. Bernard Sayler officiated.j
