Services in memory of Vera Susan Elizabeth Gonnerman were conducted at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, December 30, 1993, at Trinity United Church of Christ in Hartley. Rev. Milo Sheldon officiated.

Vera was born July 25, 1902, in Des Moines, Iowa. She was adopted as an infant by George P. and Margaret Jessen Adolph. Her childhood years were spent in Hartley where she received her early education, graduating from Hartley High School. She later attended Morningside College in Sioux City. Following her education, she worked as a telephone operator and supervisor.

Vera married Harold Gonnerman on April 3, 1929, in Hartley. Throughout most of their married life they lived in Hartley, where she was a member of the Trunity United Church of Christ and the Dorcas Society. Since 1975, hey had lived in Arnolds Park and Spirit Lake.

Mrs. Gonnerman passed away at the Dickinson County Hospital on Saturday, December 25, 1993, at the age of 91. She was preceded in death by her parents, and her husband in 1990.

She is survived by one son, Bob, and his wife, Judy of Princeton, Missouri; four grandchildren, Kristyn, Jim, David and Joshua; other relatives and friends.
