Mrs. Henry Strampe, Sr., who was born Anna Dorothea Meyer in Schafwedel, Hanover, Germany, August 14, 1863, was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Johann Meyer. At the age of 24 she came to this country. She was married to Henry Strampe on April 22, 1889 in Germantown.
Mr. and Mrs. Strampe operated a meat market at Paullina from 1890 until 1912. They moved to their farm in the east part of town in 1912, retiring from there in 1942 and moving to their new home in town.
Mrs. Strampe was the last living charter member of Zion Lutheran church. She served as president of its Ladies Aid for many years.
She is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Willis Korte (Dora) of Alton, Ill. One son, Otto , preceded her in death on Oct. 23, 1957. She is survived by a sister, Mrs. Fred Pauling of Sterling, Colo. and by six grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
