Mrs. John Jacobs Dies Christmas Day

Funeral services for Mrs. John Jacobs, wife of a prominent Paullina businessman, were held Saturday afternoon, December 27 at Grace Methodist church with the Rev. Mr. Frank Davies officiating. Vocal music was by Mrs. N.E. Weems.

Mrs. Jacobs died Christmas day at a Sioux City hospital, following a long illness. Burial was in Prairie View cemetery.

Edith Vaughan was born on April 10, 1889 at LeMars, Iowa and died at the Lutheran hospital in Sioux City on December 25, 1958 at the age of 69 years and 8 months.

In her childhood she attended the Sioux City schools. On August 22, 1911, she was married to John A. Jacobs. Three years later they moved to Paullina to enter the retail hardware business. The deceased was a Paullina resident for almost 44 consecutive years.

Mrs. Jacobs was a charter member of the Women's Society of Christian Service of Grace Methodist Church in Paullina, a member of the P.E.O., Daughters of the American Revolution, the Paullina Women's Study Club and the O'Brien county Council of Republican Women.

Survivors include her husband, John A. Jacobs of Paullina; three sisters, Mrs. Bertie Fraser of Sioux Falls, S. Dak.; Mrs. Mary Carter and Florence Vaughan of Sioux City and many other relatives.
