Robert L. Rohrs, Sr.: 79 years old of Antioch, IL passed away peacefully Saturday July 11, 2015 at home, surrounded by his family.

He was born March 28, 1936 in O’Brien County, Iowa, the son of the late Elmer and Martha (Westphal) Rohrs. On February 16, 1957 he married Florence Briggs in Round Lake Park, IL., moving to Round Lake Park in 1957 and settling in Antioch in 1972.

In 1963 Bob founded Bob Rohrs and Son Excavating, after purchasing Westphal Excavating from his uncle. Robert was a charter member of the Northeastern IL Ducks Unlimited, Founding member of the Right Wing Pheasant Club, Bristol, WI, and a member of the Loyal Order of the Moose #525, Antioch, IL. Bob loved: hunting, fishing, and being with his family and friends.

Survivors include: his wife of 58 years Florence; four children: Mary, Roxanne, Rob Jr., and Vera; 10 grandchildren: [redacted]; four great-grandchildren: [redacted]; five siblings: Patty (Larry) Sands of LeMars, IA, James Rohrs and Tom (Freva) Rohrs both of Paullina, IA, David (Bonnie) Rohrs of Sutherland, IA and Mary Kay (John) Sherman of Colorado; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

In addition to his parents, Bob was preceded in death by his step-mother Esther Rohrs and a brother William Rohrs Sr.

Memorial Visitation will be held from 2PM until 6PM Thursday July 16, 2015 at the STRANG FUNERAL HOME OF ANTIOCH 1055 Main St. (Rte. 83) Antioch, IL 60002 with a Memorial Service at 5:30PM. Interment will be private.
