Rose C. Schwebach Koob 1909-1993

Rose C. Koob, the daughter of Nick and Anna Thorman Schwebach, was born August 9, 1909, at Granville, Iowa. She received her education at schools in the Granville area.

On September 28, 1936, she was united in marriage to Ray Koob in Granville, Iowa. After their marriage the couple made their home in Granville. Rose moved to Paullina in 1961 and for many years was employed at Lange's Cafe in Paullina. Her husband preceded her in death in 1972. She made her home at the Wide View Rest Home for the last several years. She passed away there, on Sunday, January 3, 1993, reaching the age of 83 years, 4 months and 24 days. She was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Granville and the V.F.W. Auxiliary of Granville.

Rose leaves to cherish her memory, three daughters, Carol and her husband, Harlan Voetberg of Gillette, Wyoming, Nancy Koob and Sharon Wallace, both of Paullina; 10 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Agnes Grady of Granville and Gladys Noethe of Melvin; also a host of other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, three brothers and three sisters.

Funeral services for Rose C. Koob were held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, January 7, 1993, at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Granville, Iowa. Rev. Clem Currans officiated. The pallbearers were Jim Benner, Greg Sjaarda, Dale Bunkers, Ron Chapman, Gordon Schneider and Jim Budden.

Interment was at St. Joseph's Catholic Cemetery in Granville, Iowa, under the direction of the Gaudian-Eldridge Funeral Home.
