Leanne Marie (Maass) Rahbusch, the daughter of Wayne and Faye (Mugge) Maass, was born January 4, 1961, at LeMars, Iowa. The family moved to the farm west of Calumet in 1962. Leanne was very active in both girls and boys 4-H and many of her projects were presented at the Iowa State Fair. She loved beating her brothers in showmanship.

Leanne graduated from Sutherland High School and went on to college at SDSU at Brooking, SD. Later, she enrolled in computer classes at Northwest Iowa Community College in Sheldon where she excelled and was honored with a top achievement award. Leanne also taught computer classes at this school.

On December 10, 1981, Leanne was united in marriage to Tom Rahbusch. They made their home in Tacoma, WA, where Tom was stationed. They later were transferred to Germany until Tom Was discharged. Leanne was employed for some years with Maurer Manufacturing and later became employed at JTV in Sutherland were she was presently employed. She was also doing payroll for R&L Construction in Primghar.

Her joy was her grandsons, Treavor and Teddy who she truly loved, and was anxious for the arrival of her granddaughter due anytime.

On May 27, 2009, Leanne passed away unexpectedly at Mercy Medical Center in Sioux City, IA, at the age of 48. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Rebecca, who died at birth, and her mother Faye.

Left to cherish her memory are her husband Tom Rahbusch of Sutherland, IA; three daughters and their families: Jennifer, Steve, and Theodore Hershberger of Johnston, IA, Justine, Cody, and Treavor Mowrer of Waverly, IA, and Johanna Rahbusch of Sutherland, IA; one son, Matt Bocchi of Phoenix, AZ; father, Wayne (Judith) Maass of Paullina, IA; brothers and sisters: Kevin (Lee) Maass of Omaha, NE, Doug (Sue) Maass of Austin, TX, Amy (Dave) Wettergreen of Riverside, CA, Barry(Susie) Maass of Ida Grove, IA, Paul (Julie) Maass of Omaha, NE, and Kendall Carter of Los Angeles, CA; Father and Mother-in-law: Tom and Connie Rahbusch of Sutherland, brother-in-law, Mark (Tina) Rahbusch of Des Moines, IA; numerous nieces and nephews; as well as other relatives and many friends.
