Tryntje (Faber) Langhout (1855-1942)

Mrs. Henry Langhout passed away January 1, 1942 at about seven o'clock a.m. at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Gerrit DeVries. Her maiden name was Trijntje Faber [sic]; she was born in Arum, Friesland, Netherlands February 25, 1855, and was married in 1885 to Mr. F. Dykstra. Three children were born to them; the oldest daughter passed away in 1907 and her husband passed away while they still resided in Netherlands. She came to this country in 1901.

In 1906 she was married to Henry Langhout who passed away June 6, 1929. She resided in Orange City until about four years ago when she came to make her home with Mr. and Mrs. Gerrit DeVries.

Two children survive, Frank Dykstra of Doon, Iowa and Mrs. Gerrit DeVries of Sanborn. There are 12 grandchildren and 23 great grandchildren.

Funeral services were held Monday afternoon, January 5, at one o'clock at the home of Gerrit DeVries and at 1:30 at the Christian Reformed Church of Sanborn, Iowa, with Rev. Wm. Van Rees in charge. Pallbearers were Wm. Elgersma. John Snip, W. Vegter, G. Vlaming, John Vogel and H. Faber. Burial was at Sanborn, Iowa.
