Funeral services for Mrs. Emma May Comstock Clark were held at the Methodist Episcopal church in Sanborn Friday afternoon, May 26, conducted by Rev. Ira. C. McNulty, pastor of the church. Rev. McNulty preached an impressive sermon before a large congregation of sorrowing friends who were gathered to pay tribute to the memory of the departed. He was assisted in the service by a mixed quartette. Burial was made in the family lot in Roseland cemetery.

Emma May Comstock, daughter of Edgar and Margaret Comstock, was born July 17, 1866, at Martinsburg, Missouri, and died April 22nd, 1929 at Hand hospital in Hartley, Iowa, at the age of 62 years, 9 months and 5 days.

When 10 years of age, she moved to Shelby county, Iowa with her parents.

She was married to James M. Clark August 3rd, 1882 at Council Bluffs, Iowa. To this union were born 9 children. One girl died December 2nd, 1899 at the age of 8 years at Athol, Kansas; another daughter, Thelma, died at the age of 5 years. Seven children survive her. They are Ethel McNulty, Athol, Kansas; James Clark, Sioux City, Ia.; Issabelle Steadman, Sharon, Oklahoma; Charles Clark, Sanborn, Ia; Milford Larson, Mason City, Ia.; Wm. Clark, Turn, New Mexico and Earl Clark, Sanborn, Iowa. Two sisters and two brothers also survive her. Mrs. Isabell Gross, Sanborn, Iowa, and Mrs. Margaret Beller, Athol, Kansas; Warren Comstock, Portland, Oregon; Edgar Comstock, and seven grandchildren besides a host of other relatives and friends. All her children were present but Mrs. Neva Isabelle Steadman.

Mrs. Clark was a sincere christian woman and a member of the M. E. church, She was baptized at Farley, Iowa 37 years ago.

Just to make our lives sublime.

Relatives present at the funeral were Mrs. Arthur McNulty, of Athol, Kansas, James Clark, Sioux City, Mr. and Mrs. Oscar Larson and daughter Margaret of Mason City, Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Clark of Sanborn of Turn, New Mexico; [sic] Mr. and Mrs. Earl Clark and Charlie Clark of Sanborn; Mr. and Mrs. Peter Gross of Milwaukee; Mrs. Oscar McCollum of Des-Moines; Mr. and Mrs. Albert Gross, Hartley; Mr. and Mrs. Warren Gross and Mr. and Mrs. Walter Smith of Sanborn and Mrs. Jake Holk of Peterson, Iowa.
