GEORGIE EUOLA EASTHOUSE

Georgie Euola Easthouse, nee Squire, was born October 1, 1872, daughter of George B. and Sara A. Squire, at Grinnell, Iowa. She was one of a family of eight children. She moved with the family to Audubon in 1885.

She was united in marriage to Martin A. Easthouse on October 2, 1890, at Audubon. To this union five children were born: 4 daughters and 1 son.

Mr. and Mrs. Easthouse farmed near Audubon until 1893, then moved to Emmetsburg, where they farmed until 1900. In 1900, they moved to a farm south of Hartley where they lived until 1943 when they retired to Hartley.

Since her widowhood, in April, 1945, she has spent the winters with her daughters in the west. It was on her trip out there last November that she became seriously ill. It was necessary for her to undergo surgery from which she was unable to recover. She was called from this world of sorrow on April 17, 19S2, at the age of 79 years, 6 months and 18 days. At the time she was being cared for at the borne of a daughter in San Jose, California.

She was consecrated to God in baptism in childhood, grew up in a Christian home, and, in her youth; became a member of the Methodist Church in which she gave a lifetime of service. When they moved to Hartley in 1900, her membership was transferred to the Hartley Methodist Church, where she was a regular attendant.

She was a devoted wife and mother, a devout Christian throughout her entire life, and her good life is a comfort to her loved ones.

She leaves to mourn her passing: 4 daughters, Mrs. Carla Dom, Mrs. Oma Archer, Mrs. Marie Slaughter, all of San Jose, California, and Mrs. Verle Hoskins of El Paso, Texas., one son, Vernon of Hartley; two brothers, Allin Squire of Blairstown, Ia., and Ernest Squire of Lindsay, Calif., and one sister, Mrs. W. O. Wilkins of Oak Terrace, Minn.; three sons-in-law and one daughter-in-law and one aunt, Mrs. Mollie Gibson of Chillicothe, Missouri. There are also several nieces, nephews and cousins and a host of friends. May her soul rest in peace.

Funeral services were conducted on Wednesday afternoon at 1:30 at the Funeral Home and at 2:00 at the Methodist Church by her pastor, the Reverend Raymond A. Roloff, assisted by Rev. T. S. Bassett of Friendship Haven, Fort Dodge, Florence Fahlenkamp sang, 'Shall We Gather at the River?" and "Jesus Lover of My Soul" accompanied by Elsie Graves at the piano who also played other appropriate music. Interment was made in Pleasant View cemetery at Hartley.
