Evelyn E'Lois Meyer, the daughter of Henry and Dora Jalas Ahrens, was born in rural Dickenson County, Iowa on October 5, 1921. She passed away at her home near Sutherland, Iowa on September 2, 1969 at the age of 47 years, 10 months and 27 days.

She came with her parents to the Sutherland community in 1920 and attended school near her childhood home.

On January 28, 1940, she was united in marriage to Orville F. Meyer at his parents home. She was a member of the Bethel Lutheran Church of Sutherland.

Preceding her in death were her father and one brother, Alvin.

Left to cherish her memory are her husband, Orville, her mother, Dora Ahrens of Paullina, 3 brothers, Albert of Granville; Frank of LeRoy, Minn.; and Ralph of Hartley; 4 sisters, Amanda (Mrs. Herman Stoffel) Spirit Lake, Lula (Mrs. Oscar Dahl) Naples, Florida; Leona (Mrs. Clifford Riedeman), Paullina; and Velma (Mrs. Harry Hansen) Waterloo. Nieces and nephews, other relatives and many friends.
