Lucille Rose "Dolly" Leth, the daughter of Herman and Katie Anderson Kunst, was born September 24. 1916 in Blue Earth County, Minnesota. Her childhood and early years were spent in the Mankato, Minnesota area, and she grew up a member of Emmanual Lutheran Church at Mankato.

She had lived all of her adult life at Hartley, Iowa and was united in marriage to Merrit Brehmer at Hartley. They became the parents of four children: Jack, Sally, Ray and Ronnie.

She was united in marriage to Albert "Slats" Leth on October 16. 1938. at Dakota City, Nebraska, and they became the parents of four sons: Dennis, Richard, Gerald and Terry.

She enjoyed the outdoors and gardening, and her life was centered around her family. She passed away at the hospital in Hartley on January 23, 1990, at the age of 73.

Preceding her in death were her parents: one son, Jack Brehmer her husband, Albert "Slats" Leth in 1980; one grandson. Shawn Brehmer and two sisters, Marcella DeVlaeminck and Elaine Weaver.

Left to cherish her memory are Jack's wife Sylvia of Rochester, New York; a daughter and her husband, Sally and Alvin Steffens of Cleghorn: six sons and their wives: Ray and Elaine Brehmer of Lantry, South Dakota. Ronnie and Marjorie Brehmer, Dennis and JoAnn Leth. Richard and Carol Leth, Gerald and Susan Leth. and Terry and Pamela Leth. all of Hartley; 25 grandchildren. 17 great grandchildren; two brothers. Wesley Kunst of Duluth. Minnesota, and Robert and his wife Mabel Kunst of Mankato; and one sister, Ardella Hinkey of Hartley; as well as other relatives and friends.

Services in memory of Lucille "Dolly" Leth were held 10:30 a.m. Friday, January 26, 1990, at Baumgarten Funeral Home of Hartley. Rev. Stokes Snyder officiated. Casket bearers were Bradley Leth, Richard Leth. Mark Brehmer. Daniel Brehmer. Lloyd Steffens and Thomas Steffens. Committal service was in Pleasant View Cemetery of Hartley.
