Margaret (Olson) Hesse

Mrs. Margaret Alsen Hesse [sic] was born on November 27 [1893] on a farm in Buena Vista County Iowa, the seventh child of Joachim and Caroline Olsen, early pioneers who laid claim to farmland near Pukwana, S. D.

On February 2, 1918, she was united in marriage to Gerhardt H. Hesse and to this union were born three daughters — Billie, Mrs. W. H. Fleming of Butter, Pa.; Betty Lou, Mrs. Warren B. Newel of Harrisburg; Penn.; and Gayle, Mrs. H. Rex Branson of Wichita, Kansas.

Her life was devoted to her family. She was a 52 year member of the P.E.O. Sisterhood; Order of the Eastern Star and was one of the Charter Members of the O'Brien County Farm Bureau.

She leaves to mourn her passing her husband, daughters, seven grandchildren and one great grandson. Services were held Friday, January 4 in the Chapel of the Youngerwaard Funeral Home at Rock Rapids, Iowa with interment at Hartley, Iowa.
