Mary E. Wiese, nee Curtis, the daughter of Arthur and Sarah Baumgardner Curtis, was born December 12, 1911 at Superior, Iowa. She lived also at Harris and Lester, Iowa, and graduated from Harris High School.

She was united in marriage to Ben Wiese June 18, 1938 in Dickinson County. They became the parents of two children. She passed away at the Hartley Community Memorial Hospital in Hartley on June 3, 1973 at the age of 61.

Preceding her in death were her parents. Her survivors include her husband, son Ben of Boone, Iowa, and daughter, Mrs. Mahmoud (Mary Jane) Seddigh of Terhan, Iran, one granddaughter and one brother, Cass Curtis of Hartley.

Services were held Tuesday, June 5 from Baumgarten Funeral Home. Rev. Keith Scott officiated. Burial was made at Pleasant View Cemetery, Hartley, Iowa. Baumgarten Funeral Home was in charge of all arrangements.
