Mrs. Dietrich Hinkey, nee Henrietta Voss, was born August 28, 1878, near Walcott in Scott County, Iowa. She passed away March 26, 1969, at Hartley, Iowa, at the age of 90 years, 6 months, and 28 days. She attended the rural schools near her childhood home, in Scott Co., and came with her parents to O'Brien Co. in 1892. She had resided in Hartley more than 50 years. She was a member of Trinity United Church of Christ.

Her marriage to Dietrich Hinkey took place Nov. 22, 1911, at Hartley, Ia. He preceded her in death, as did one sister, and three brothers.

Left to cherish her memory are her two children: William Hinkey, and Mrs. Kathryn Crowner, both of Hartley, five grandchildren: Dee Ann, Roger, and Marita Crowner, and Sharon and Donald Hinkey, two brothers: Louis Voss and Otto Voss, also of Hartley, as well as nieces and nephews, other relatives, and her many friends.

Funeral services were held Friday, March 28, 1969, at the Baumgarten Funeral Home with Rev. Keith Scott officiating. Pallbearers were Harold Gonnerman, L. W. Wagner, Herb Leth, Delbert Matthiesen, Albert Leth and Emil Muhs. She is at rest in Pleasant View Cemetery at Hartley.
