Herman F Hinkey (1865-1921)

HERMAN F. HINKEY One of nine children, the son of Mr. and Mrs. H. Hinkey, Herman F. Hinkey was born January 11,1865, on the parental farm in Tete-de-Mors Jackson Co., Iowa. Having spent his youth and young manhood in that community, the deceased came to Hartley, in 1888 and together with bis brother, Mr. Otto Hinkey, devoted himself to farm work. For more than thirty years the brothers worked together.

A year ago the deceased came to Hartley. His health failed. Afflicted with Bright's disease, he was taken to the Hand Hospital a month ago but his illness proved fatal. Monday morning at 5 A. M. he was called to rest.

His body was taken to the home of his brother, Mr. O. Hinkey. Funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon at three o'clock at Trinity Ev. Church. Rev. Albrecht officiated, assisted by the Trinity church choir.

Esteemed and respected by all who knew him, the departed is survived by three brothers, Mr. Otto Hinkey and Mr. Dietrich Hinkey of Hartley and Mr. John Hinkey of Austin, Minn., and ten nephews and nieces.
