Raymond W. Trojahn, 85, of Mason City, Iowa died Thursday, January 8, 2009, at the I.O.O.F Home in Mason City.

Raymond was born February 6, 1923 in Hartley, Iowa, the son of William and Amanda (Jansen) Trojahn. He was born and raised on a farm near Hartley. He graduated from Hartley High School. Following high school, Raymond served in the Army during World War II.

He married Lois Fern Bracker on July 18, 1945 in Hartley. They farmed there for three years. They moved with their daughter Becky to Texas in 1949 where he worked as a theater manager for Central States. They moved to Clear Lake, Iowa in 1968 and retired in 1987. Following retirement he worked for Crescent Electric for seven years.

Raymond was survived by his wife, Lois Trojahn of Mason City; daughters: Becky Berg and her husband, Larry of Spirit Lake, Iowa, Nancy Huber and her husband, Eugene of Clear Lake, Iowa, and Billie Hartman and special friend, Shannon Bilyeu of Forest City, Iowa; six grand­children [redacted]; and one sister, Lillian Klinker of Hartley.

Raymond was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Esther Rost.

Inurnment service for Ray and Lois Trojahn June 20 in Hartley

The family of Ray and Lois Trojahn will be having an inurnment service on Saturday, June 20, at 10 30 am at the Pleasant View Cemetery in Hartley Pastor Jeff Filkins of Trinity United Church of Christ will be officiating. A time of fellowship will follow at Red's Cafe from 11:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Lunch and refreshments will be served.
