Services Held For - Mrs. Peter Roorda

Funeral services were held Saturday, July 16, for Mrs. Peter Roorda of Sheldon who passed away this past Thursday at the Sheldon Community hospital after a long Illness. Services were held In, the Sanborn Funeral Home at 1:00 and at the Sanborn First Reformed church at 1:30. Rev. Albert Van Dyke of the Sheldon church and Rev. Wm. Haak of the Sanborn church officiated. Music was offered by Mrs. Art Bosch and Mrs. Wilmer Van Engen who song 'In Times Like These" and "Somebody Did a Golden Deed." Mrs. Neil Beyer was-the organist. Mrs. Alva Jones and Mrs. R. W. Wolbrink of Sheldon were in charge of Dowers. Pallbearers were John Solsma, James Ver Mulm, Martin Vander Velde, Virgil Solsma, Ralph Kamphoff and Peter Van Aalsburg. Burial was at Roseland cemetery at Sanborn.

Mrs. Roorda was born June 6, 1908, to Herman and Anna Kuyper in Sioux Center. She was united in marriage to Peter Roorda June 14, 1940. They made their home in Sanborn, until 1957 after which they moved to Sheldon

Survivors are the husband, a daughter, Glenda, a sister (Gladys) Mrs. Ray Brands of Sheldon and, a brother, Kenneth Kuyper, of Sanborn.
