ARLENE E. KRIKKE 1934 — 1998

Arlene Elizabeth Hofman, daughter of Abraham and Kathrina (Zonnefeld) Hofman, was born near Sanborn, Iowa on January 7, 1934. She graduated from Sanborn Christian School and Western Christian High School. She received her teacher's training at Northwestern College, Orange City. She taught at Orange City Christian and then at Worthington, Minn. Christian. She was united in marriage to John Krikke of Sheldon, la. on March 3, 1954, at the Sanborn Christian Reformed Church. They farmed in the Sanborn and Worthington areas before moving to Ripon, Calif. In 1960. Arlene taught kindergarten for 31 years in the Ripon Christian School until she retired in 1991.

She died on August 22, 1998, at the age of 64 years, seven months and 15 days.

She is survived by her children: Dennis of Modesto, Calif, and Laura and her husband, Dave Carvalho of Modesto; three granddaughters: Kelsey, Rachel, and Samantha; one brother, Maynard Hofman and his wife, Gert three sisters: Elsie Elgersma and her husband. Bill; Agnes Uittenbogaard, and Tillie Bosma and her husband, Harry, all of Sanborn: a sister-in-law. Pearl Hofman of Sanborn, and many relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, John, in 1996, her parents, and stepmother, Jessie, her brother, Dick, and an Infant brother.

She was a member of Zion United Reformed Church of Ripon, Calif. Memorial services were held August 25, 1998, at Immanuel Christian Reformed Church, Ripon, Calif, with Rev. Case Admlraal officiating. Burial was at Ripon Cemetery with Deegan Ripon Memorial
