JESSIE HOFMAN 1895—1981

Jessie Kroese. daughter of Isaac and Elsie Kroese, was born in Grand Rapids, Mich., on September 10, 1895. At the age of 15 years, she moved to the Sanborn, Iowa vicinity with her parents. She was united in marriage to Mike Mars on January 2, 1918, He preceded her in death on February 1, 1919. On April 25, 1945, she was united in marriage to Abe Hofman Their entire married life was lived in Sanborn He preceded her in death on June 5, 1956, She continued to make her home in Sanborn and lived there until the time of her death on August 27. 1981 at the age of 85 years, 11 months and 17 days

She is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Kenneth (Elsie) Kuyper of Sanborn; two grandchildren Mrs. Vern (Joyce) Wallinga of Sutherland, and Kenneth Kuyper. Jr of Humboldt, one great-grandson. Michael one brother, Pete Kroese, Sr of Sanborn, six stepchildren: Dick Hofman Mrs. William (Elsie) Elgersma. Agnes Uittenbogaard. Mrs. Harry (Tillie) E Bosma. Maynard Hofman. all of Sanborn, and Mrs. John (Arlene) Krikke of California. 24 step grandchildren and 38 step-great-grandchildren

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husbands. Mike and Abe, three brothers and three sisters. She was a member of the Christian Reformed Church of Sanborn and a member of the Loyal Workers.

Funeral services were held Saturday, Aug. 29 at the Christian Reformed Church of Sanborn. Rev. John Sittema officiated Casket bearers were Jerry Elgersma. Pete Kroese, Jr. Donald Kroese. Alien Hofman. Gene Van Veldhuizen and Eldon Bosma Harriet and Jeane Van Veldhuizen sang Saved By Grace' and "Where The Roses Never Fade' Ms. Mildred Kroese was organist

Interment was in Roseland Cemetery, Sanborn with the Sanborn Funeral Home in charge
