Funeral Services for Grace C. Bonderman were held at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, February 3, 2001, at the Church of Christ in Primghar, Iowa, with Beryl Hicks officiating. The Eulogist was Glen Davis. "Beyond the Sunset" and "Just a Closer Walk With Thee" were sung by Rick Bender. "Amazing Grace" was sung by the congregation. The organist was Sandy Du Bay. The casket bearers were Eric Bonderman, Allen Bonderman, Harry Arrick, Colin Bonderman, John Du Bay and Glen Davis. Interment was at Pleasant Hill Cemetery at Primghar, Iowa, under the direction of the Gaudian-Eldridge Funeral Home.

OBITUARY Grace Fern Conn Bonderman, the adopted daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Hans Johnson, was born September 25, 1900 in Des Moines, IA. She re­ceived her education in schools in the Larrabee, IA, area.

In March of 1919, she was united in marriage to Waldo Merle Bonderman at his parents' home in Archer, IA. After their marriage, the couple settled in Prim­ghar, IA, where the Illinois Central Railroad employed her husband. To­gether they became the parents of six children.

Her husband preceded her in death on April 17, 1983, in Prim­ghar. Grace remained in the family home until entering the Primgbar Care Center August 26, 1988. She passed away at the Care Center on Monday, January 29, 2001, having reached the age of 100 years, 4 months and 4 days. She was a baptized member of the Church of Christ in Primghar and supported the Midwest Christian Children's Home in Peterson, IA.

Together with her husband, she was the patron for the Waldo M. and Grace C. Bonderman IUPUI/IRT Playwriting Award for Children's Theatre. This nationally-acclaimed award is given biennially by Indiana University, Purdue University at In­dianapolis.

Grace leaves to cherish her mem­ory two sons: Iven and his wife, Bernice of Spokane, WA, and Dean and his wife, Pauline of Fishers, IN; one daughter, Joyce Clifton of Memphis, TN; seventeen grandchildren; thirty-three great-grandchildren; 15 great-great-grandchildren; plus a host of other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband; sons: Neil, Howard and Ray and two grandchildren.
