FORMER SUTHERLAND RESIDENT DIES IN WISCONSIN

Henry J. Vierck wns born in Germany, April 13, 1875, and died at his home in Milton, Wisconsin, November 11, 1927.

He came to this country with his parents when 7 years of age, and the family settled in Minden, Iowa, later coming to Calumet.

He was married to Minta Tess, on December 26, 1916 at Milton, Wis., then came to live in Sutherland. After residing there three years, the family moved to Milton, where they have lived since.

He is survived by his wife and four children, Irene, Orval, Henry Jr. and Clarence; his mother, Mrs. Hans Graack;, formerly of Sutherland; two sisters, Mrs. Gus Engel of Paullina, and Mrs. Frieda Bolio of Sioux City; and one brother, Charles, of St. Paul, Minnesota.

Mr. Vierck purchased a home on Greenman street. Being a carpenter, he erected a work shop on bis premises. He was also teaching manual training in the state graded school of Milton.

He had been suffering from heart trouble recently, but had been working in his shop during the day. Soon after retiring he was taken very ill nnd passed away within a few minutes.

The funeral was held Monday at two o'clock from the Methodist church and conducted by Rev. Anton Hatlestad, assisted by Uev M. A. Drew. Burial in Milton cemetery.

Mr. Vierck was a man of fine character, liked by all who knew him. The school board as well as the children liked him. He was a very useful man, and many of his friends went to him for advice.

Although he was in failing health, he labored faithfully to care for those whom God had given in bis care. His loss is keenly felt.

Mrs. Gust Engel, Mrs. Hans Graack, Mr. and Mrs. Walter Hansel, attended the fnnerul.
