John H. Meehlhause

John H Meehlhause, son of of Jacob and Katherine Frick Meehlhause, was born Feb. 10, 1894 at Hartley and died Aug. 13, 1959 at Veterans Hospital in Denver following a two week Illness.

Mr Meehlhause received his education in the rural schools of O'Brien county. On June 28, 1922 he was united in marriage to Minnie Endorf and four children blessed the union. He farmed at Hartley for a number of years and then is 1948 moved to Spirit Lake where the family resided until 1955. They then moved to Denver where he operated a motel until his death.

Survivors are: his wife; two sons, Marvin of Algona and Orwin of Denver; two daughters, Mrs. Lolene Peterson of and Mrs. Joann Lincoln Biloxi, Miss.; three sisters, Mrs. Lena Frick of Hartley and Mrs. Rosa Gonnerman of Hartley; three brothers, Edward of Hartley, Louie of Sheffield and Lawrence of San Bruno, Calif.; and eight grandchildren.

Funeral services were held Sunday, Aug. 16, at Trinity United Church of Christ in Hartley with the Rev. Alfred W. Yungschlager of Calumet officiating. Interment was in Pleasantview cemetery at Hartley
