SERVICES HELD SEPTEMBER 13 FOR LILLIE SELKEN

Lillie Selken, the daughter of Charles and Dora Bockwoldt Frick, was born September 24, 1900 at Hartley, Iowa. She was a lifetime resident of the Hartley area.

She was united in marriage to William Selken on October 8, 1920 at Hartley and they farmed north of Hartley until moving into town in 1947.

She was a member of Trinity United Church of Christ of Hartley. She passed away at the hospital in Hartley on September 11, 1979 at the age of 78.

Preceding her in death were her parents, her husband in 1964 and three nephews, Eddie Miller, Eldred Frick and Orland Krutzfeldt. Among her survivors are one sister-in-law, Mrs. Ed Frick of Hartley and several nieces and nephews.

Services in memory of Lillie Selken were held at the Trinity United Church of Christ Thursday, September 13, with Rev. Bernard Sayler officiating. The casket bearers were Delmar Miller, Donald Frick, Everett Selken, Vertus Frick, Roger Frick and Harry Wulf. Burial was at the Pleasant View Cemetery at Hartley. Baumgarten Funeral Homes were in charge of the arrangements.
