MRS. CATHARINE WERNER

Catharine Elizabeth Senter was born December 4, 1820, at Reichersachsen, District of Eschweg, Germany, and ended her earthly journey December 11, 1903, just a week after reaching her 83d birthday.

In the year 1844 she was wedded to Johann George Werner. Their matrimonial life was blessed with seven children, of whom one son at the age of 20 and a daughter of 26 years had been laid to rest before their departure from Germany. In the year 1881 they emigrated to America and settled on a farm in Benton county. There on the 13th of April, 1889, she lost her husband. After a residence of fourteen years in Benton county, she came to O'Brien county and had ever since made her home with her sons.
The children who remain to mourn her loss are George, John and Jacob Werner, of Hartley: Mrs. Dora Suck, of Scotia, and Mrs. Sophia Wolfe, of Garrison.

The funeral was held from the German Lutheran church Tuesday afternoon at 2 o'clock, the services being in charge of the pastor, Rev. Wm. Vehe.
