SADIE LUSETTA KEIFER

Sadie Lusetta Klett, daughter of Fred and Margaret Klett, was born at Harper, Iowa, Jan. 5, 1875, and passed away at 6:30 p.m., Nov. 25, 1948, at her home near Spirit Lake, Iowa, at the age of 73 years, 10 months and 20 days. She was baptized in the Lutheran church in infancy. Her childhood days were spent near Harper and at the age of 16 years she moved with her family to Everly, Iowa.

On Feb. 11, 1896 she was united in marriage to Micheal J. Keifer. To this union were born six children: Hollie of Elkton, S. D.; Viola (Mrs. George Miller) of Park Rapids, Minn.; Orville of Spirit Lake; Leora Blom, who passed away in 1931; Leon of Minneapolis, Minn, and Florence, with whom she had made her home since her husband's death in 1933.

She had lived in the vicinities of Hartley. Lake Park, Round Lake, Minn, and Harris, Iowa, moving to Spirit Lake June 6, 1944, where she resided until her death which was caused by a heart ailment with complications.

Mrs. Keifer was a loving mother whose greatest pleasure was her family and home and she always enjoyed visiting her many friends. She was always willing to help where help was needed. She was a member of the Rebekah Lodge of Harris for the past 28 years.

Besides her children she leaves to mourn three sisters: Mrs. Matilda Barth of Everly; Mrs. Lydia Austin of Spencer; Mrs. Tena Simpson of Greeley, Colo.; and three brothers: Will Klett of Milford; Charley Klett of Everly; and Lou Klett of Portland, Ore.; also 14 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral services were conducted by the local pastor at the funeral home in Spirit Lake at 1 o'clock Sunday afternoon, Nov. 28, and at 2 o'clock in the Harris Methodist Church with the Rev. Harold Dayton officiating. Members of the Rebekah Lodge took part in the last rites. Pall bearers were her six grandsons. Burial was made in the Hartley cemetery beside her husband. A quartette composed of Mrs. W. H. Woelfle, Miss Shirley King, Bill Graham and Louis Carstensen, with Mrs. J. B. Rozell at the piano, rendered beautiful hymns.
