Adelia Glaser Pippert

Funeral services in memory of Adelia Glaser Pippert were conducted Friday, January 17, 1997, at Trinity United Church of Christ in Hartley. Rev. Milo Sheldon officiated at the 10:30 a.m. services. Casket bearers were Lee Irvine, Brian Pippert, Merlyn Schoelerman, Orlin Hein and Delmar Dahnke. Interment was in Pleasant View Cemetary in Hartley. Warner-Baumgarten Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.

Adelia Pippert, the daughter of Fritz and Emma Rinck Glaser, was born February 25, 1907, near Sutherland, Iowa. In 1913, the family moved to a farm near Hartley and it was in the rural schools that she received her early education.

Adelia married Roy Pippert on February 4, 1930. They farmed near Hartley for many years before retiring in 1963, at which time they moved into Hartley. Adelia was a longtime member of Trinity United Church of Christ, having been baptized and confirmed in her youth. For a number of years she had also been a member of the Dorcas Society in church. In January of 1996, Adelia moved to the Community Memorial Health Center in Hartley, where she was currently a resident.

Mrs. Pippert passed away at the Spencer Municipal Hospital in Spencer on January 14, 1997, at the age of 89. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband on December 7, 1987; four brothers: Harry, Clarence and two in infancy; and one sister, Amanda Hilbert.

Adelia is survived by one son and his wife, Verlus and Alice of Hartley; four grandchildren: Ronda Irvine and her husband Lee of Primghar, Brian Pippert and his wife Becky, Paul Pippert and Gary Pippert, all of Hartley; two great-grandsons, Lance and Chad Irvine of Primghar; one great-granddaughter, Megan Pippert of Hartley; two brothers, Leonard and Fred Glaser, both of Hartley; other relatives and many friends.
