Services in memory of Martha Glaser were held Monday, November 22, 1993 at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Hartley. Pastor John Schauer offi­ciated at the 2 p.m. services. Casket bearers were Russell Boles; Pete Flick, Verlus Pippert, Bradley McDowell, John Prins and Donald Glaser. Honorary casket bearers were Arnold Steuck and Elmer Steuck. Interment was in Pleasant View Ceme­tery in Hartley. Warner-Baumgarten Funeral Home was in charge of ar­rangements.

Martha Emma Glaser, the daughter of Frederick and Augusta Steuck Guse, was born May 10, 1907 in Primghar, Iowa. Her childhood years were spent in Hartley, where she was confirmed at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Hartley on April 9, 1922. She received her education in in Hartley Schools, graduating from Hartley High School in 1927. She later attended Ncttleton College in Sioux Falls.

Martha married Harry Glaser on February 7, 1934 in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. Throughout their married life, they farmed near Hartley for 28 years. They retired and moved into Hartley in 1962.

She was a member of St Paul's Lutheran Church, Ladies Aid, Ladies Farm Bureau and sev­eral card clubs.

Mrs. Glaser passed away at the Hartley Community Memorial Health Center on Wednesday, November 17,1993 at the age of 86.

She was pre­ceded in death by her parents; husband on August 15,1982; one grandson. Daniel Glaser, three sisters: Minnie Siefkes, Clara Siefkes and Marie Potas; and three brothers: Edward, Ervin and Edgar Guse

She is survived by one son and his wife, Leland and Sherry Glaser of Mesa, Arizona; two grandchildren: Shani Cavanaugh and Deonn Glaser; other relatives and friends.
