Leonard Glaser

Funeral services in memory of Leonard Glaser were conducted at 1:30 p.m. Monday, July 2, 2001, at Trinity United Church of Christ in Hartley, Iowa. Rev. Milo Sheldon officiated. Casket bearers were Verlus Pippert, Donald Glaser, Lee Glaser, Pete Flick, Lon Vogt and Brian Pippert. Interment was in Pleasant View Cemetery in Hartley. Warner Funeral Home was in charge of the ar­rangements.

Leonard Glaser, the son of Fritz and Emma Rinck Glaser, was born February 21, 1909, near Sutherland, Iowa. In 1913, the family moved to a farm near Hartley, Iowa. It was in the rural school he received his early education. Leonard worked as a farm laborer for many years. He moved to Hartley in 1949, and worked at various jobs.

Leonard was a member of the Trin­ity United Church of Christ, having been baptized and confirmed in his youth. He moved to the Senior Wellness Center on October 1, 1993- On June 1, 2001, he entered the Community Memorial Health Center. Leonard passed away at the Community Memorial Health Center in Hartley on June 29, 2001, at the age of 92.

He was preceded in death by his parents; four brothers: Harry, Clarence and two in infancy; two sis­ters: Amanda Hilbert and Adelia Pippert; and one nephew, Rodney Hilbert.

Leonard is survived by one brother and his wife, Fred and Helen Glaser of Hartley; two nieces: Verlene Flick of Hartley and Carolyn Hilbert Choate of Vienna, Illinois; five nephews: Verlus Pippert of Hartley, Don Glaser of White Bear Lake, Minnesota, Gene Glaser of Richardson, Texas, Arvin Glaser of Kansas City, Missouri, Lee Glaser of Paullina, Iowa.
