Our community was again saddened this week by a telegram received bringing the intellignece of the death of a former O'Brien County boy.

Laurence Armstrong Wheelock was born in Paullina, Iowa, December 20, 1892 and died at his home in LuVerne, Minn., November 19, 1918, being 25 years, 10 months and 21 days of age at the time of his death. The cause of his death was Influenza, against which he fought manfully for ten days, with the best medical help and the tender nursing of his mother.

Laurence spent part of his life in Iowa and part in southwestern Minnesota. In late years, he has made his home in LuVerne, Minn He learned the carpenter trade and became a contractor and builder with fine success.

On November 25, 1914, he was united in marriage with Miss Elsie Miles of St. Peter, Minn. To this happy union, two children have been born — Thomas Edward, aged 4 years, and Laurence Robert, aged 16 months. His wife and little children are all sick and unable to come for the funeral.

Laurence was the son of G. W. and Effie Armstrong Wheelock, being their only child. He was a young man of fine character, hdghly respected by all around him. During his last sickness, he revealed to his mother the fact of his reconciliation with God through the atoning blood of Christ, and died in the peace of the Christian faith.

The funeral service was conducted by Rev. T. S. Bassett, of the Methodist Church, at the Chapel in Hartley cemetery, Thursday afternoon, November 21, 191S. His parents, who are well known in this vicinity, have the deep sympathy of many friends, and these friends unite in sending condolence to the stricken wife and little ones in LuVerne, Minn.
