Merle M Andringa (1929-1980)

Merle M. Andringa, son of George and Anna Andringa. was bom near Sanborn, Iowa on December 26, 1929. He lived his youth, attended rural school and grew to young manhood in this vicinity

He was united in marriage to Sylvia Runia of Bigelow, Minn on September 29, 1950 in Osceola County. After their marriage they made their home in Sanborn, Iowa. They later spent nine years in California and returned to Sanborn where he lived until the time of his death on August 24. 1980 at the age of 50 years, seven months and 28 days.

He is survived by his wife, Sylvia of Sanborn; four sons, Stanley and David, both of Hartley, Iowa, George of Denver, Colorado, and Jim of Sanborn, Iowa; three daughters, Mrs Ed (Jolene) Greving of Sheldon, Iowa, Mrs. Bob (Nella) Seivert of Hartley, Iowa and Mrs. Bob (Lois) Hakeman of Sanborn, Iowa; nine grandchildren, two brothers, Robert of Upland, Calif., and Leroy of Centos, Calif., and one sister, Irene DeJong of Bellflower, Calif.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

He was employed as an electrician and millwright. He was a member of the Sanborn Volunteer Fire Department for many years. He was a member of the First Reformed Church of Sanbom, Iowa.

Funeral services were held Tuesday, August 26 at 10:30 a.m. at the First Reformed Church of Sanborn, Iowa. The Rev. Gerald Osland officiated. Casket bearers were Merle Alberts, Donald Faas. Bernard Visser, Douglas Lyman, Edwin Visser and John Vander Werff. Barbara Vogel, soloist, sang "New 23rd Psalm" accompanied by Lorraine Edwards. Mrs. Sylvia Beyer was organist. Interment was in Roseland Cemetery, Sanborn with the Sanborn Funeral Home in charge.
