FUNERAL SERVICES TUESDAY FOR ANNA ELIZABETH MEEHLHAUSE

Last rites for Anna Elizabeth Meehlhause were held Tuesday, Nov. 10 at 11 a.m. in the United Methodist Church with Rev. William Tomlinson officiating. Soloist was Darold Rost who sang "How Great Thou Art" and "God Will Take Care of You" accompanied by Mrs. Paul Linder. Casket bearers were Donald Glaser, Bradley Thorn, Alan Groen, Donald Nelson Jr., Kenneth Groen and Kevin Groen. Burial was in Pleasant View Cemetery with Baumgarten Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

Anna Elizabeth Meehlhause, the daughter of Jacob and Maria Menkel Werner, was born April 5, 1889 at Dysart, Iowa in Benton County. She attended school near her childhood home and at an early age accompanied her parents to Northwest Iowa.

She was united in marriage to Rudolph Meehlhause at Hartley on January 28, 1914. They farmed until moving into Hartley in 1929. She was a member of the United Methodist Church at Hartley, the United Methodist Women and the Women's Relief Corps. She enjoyed sewing, quilting and crocheting.

For the last four years she had been a resident of the Mann Wing. She passed away at the hospital in Hartley on November 8, 1981 at the age of 92. Preceding her in death were her parents, her husband in 1971, and two brothers.

Left to cherish her memory are four daughters and their husbands, Luella and Ray Reinke and Faye and Leo Groen, all of Hartley, Irene and Robert Voss of Sheldon and Betty and Donald Rembe of Primghar; seven grandchildren, fifteen great-grandchildren; one sister, Mrs. Anna Christina Sittler of Milford and one brother, Carl Werner of Pipestone, Minnesota, as well as other relatives and friends.
