Robert Warren Eilers

Funeral services in memory of Robert Warren Eilers were conducted at 10 a.m. Saturday, November 4, 2000, at Warner Funeral Home in Hartley, Iowa. Pastor David Ericksen officiated. Casket bearers were Kenneth Eilers, Jerry Eilers, Ronald Eilers, Richard Eilers, Randall Eilers and John Korenberg, Jr. Interment was in Pleasant View Cemetery in Hartley. Warner Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.

Robert Warren Eilers, the son of Fred and Frieda (Borchers) Eilers, was bom August 8, 1925 in Akron, Iowa. He received his education in Ireton, Iowa and was a 1942 graduate of Ireton Public School.

Robert married Lucille Audrey Stromert on February 6, 1948. The couple resided in Ireton, with Bob working with his brother, Wilbur in a retail feed dealership before moving to Hartley in 1956. Bob and Lucille were long-time residents of Hartley, where he established a retail feed dealership and later Eilers Sports.

They moved to Arnolds Park in 1982 where Lucille passed away January 22, 1985.

Robert was united in marriage to Mary Jean (Bertram) Dick on April 17, 1993 and resided in Murrieta, California. Bob and Jean enjoyed traveling and visited each of their combined families several times.

Bob was baptized and confirmed into the Lutheran faith and was a member of the First Lutheran Church in Lake Elsinore, California, where he had served as an elder. Mr. Eilers passed away at their home in Murrieta on October 28, 2000 after a lengthy illness.

Robert is survived by his wife, Mary Jean; his five sons and their spouses: Kenneth and Roxanne of Franklin, Massachusetts, Jerry and Jane of Salina, Kansas, Ronald and Carole of Lee's Summit, Missouri, Randall and Kara of Gladstone, Missouri, and Richard and Tracy of Sierra Vista, Arizona; one daughter, Marcia and her husband, John Korenberg, Jr. of Clear Lake, Iowa; three stepsons: Lawrence Dick and his wife, Doneine of Acworth, Georgia, David Dick and his wife, Gretchen of Sylmar, California and Douglas Dick of Long Beach, California; one stepdaughter, Mary Lou Bennett and her husband, Lawrence of Sylmar, California; ten grandchildren; seventeen step grandchildren; one great-grandson; two sisters: Joanne Klohs of LeMars, Iowa and Elaine Freed of Colorado Springs, Colorado; as well as other relatives and friends.
