Death Summons Henry Bock
After Lingering Illness of More Than Two Years, Death Relieves Suffering

Monday morning at 7:15 Henry Bock passed from this life at his home. Death relieved him of his extreme suffering, that was more or less attendant throughout his sickness of almost two years. The cause of death was a cancer of the abdominal region.

Funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon from the home at two o'clock, and two-thirty at the Methodist church. Rev. F.F. Robinson being the officiating clergyman. The funeral will be in charge of the local Masonic lodge of which the deceased was a member. Interment will be at Prairie View cemetery.

Henry Bock was born July 20, 1885 on a farm southeast of Paullina, the son of Mr. and Mrs. A. Bock. He made his home until he was twelve years of age on this farm when he came to Paullina with his parents. After completing his education in the Paullina Public Schools he entered the hardware business with his father, A. Bock, and brother, John Bock, the firm name being A.Rock and Sons. This business relation existed until March 1, 1923 when Henry left the hardware business and went into the confectionery business which he continued until the time of his death.

He was a member of the Methodist church of this place. His fraternal relations were evidenced by membership in the Masonic lodge, the I.O.O.F., the Modern Woodman and Branch No. 23 of the Knights of the Ku Klux, of Paullina.

The deceased was very well known in this community having spent his entire life here. In the years of boyhood and business relations he had formed many friendships and enjoyed the respect of all. His passing from this life is a matter of sorrow to his many friends and others.

He leaves to mourn his wife and two children, a son and daughter, Woodrow and Georgia.

Card of Thanks

I wish for my friends to know that the hours of sorrow and rial have been greatly brightened and the burden made easier to bear by reason of their faithful and kindly services, all of which are greatly appreciated. I wish also to express my appreciation for the beautiful floral offerings to the memory of my deceased husband.
