Vivian Berle Allen, 64, Readlyn, former Pocahontas resident, died October 20, 1996 at Allen Memorial Hospital, Waterloo. Services were Wednesday, Oct. 23 at Trinity United Church of Chirst, Hartley, with the Rev. Milo Shaklon officiating. Burial was in Pleasant View Cemetery, Hartley. Casket bearers were Michael Anderson, Mike Otto, Jerry Roth, Jeff Otto, Ben Otto, and Scott Hartmann.

Survivors include sons Scott Allen, Powell, Wy., Jeff Allen, Martin City, Mt., Alex Allen, Pocahontas; daughters Joy Leisinger, Readlyn, Robin Ross, Storm Lake; ten grandchildren; sister Grace Lage, Hartley; and step-mother Leola Anderson, Hartley.

She was preceded in death by her parents, brother Richard Anderson and daughter Carleen.

Vivian Berle Anderson, the daughter of Abel and Byrdie Coulter Anderson, was born March 29, 1932 in Hartley. She graduated from Hartley High School. She attended N.I.T.C. and following her graduation from there she attended UNI in Cedar Falls. She lived in Hartley for a number of years and also lived in Pocahontas for 26 years before moving to Readlyn.
